Over the years security posed a major concern at night due to total darkness. At present manually operated street lights are needed to be switched on earlier before sunset and to be switched off at sun rise. Hence, arises the need to supply light without manually switching it On/ Off. Solar street light system is based on photovoltaic technology that converts sunlight into electricity. The system uses Sun Light during day time, to charge the battery through Solar Photovoltaic panel, and then automatically switches on a LED lamp, after sunset through battery, and switches off automatically at dawn. Solar street lights are beneficial in day to day running, reduces maintenance cost, saves energy, environment friendly and are easy to install.
